"Fogg served with the Maine Camp and Hospital Association and
later with the Christian Commission, caring for the wounded on twenty-nine
battlefields while being exposed to enemy fire at least eight times. She
also served at various hospitals and on transport ships. Late in the war
she permanently injured her spine after falling through an open hatch of a
hospital ship while hurrying to tend to a dying soldier."
I love the stories. I don't know how you find them, but please don't stop! They are so interesting and inspiring.
